Short answer

The developer says Last Pirates: Die Together enters Early Access on August 18, 2026. Some regional Steam store pages display August 19 instead. As of our August 13 check, the Early Access build was not unlocked and the public demo was already closed.

The one-day difference does not necessarily mean the game was delayed. Steam can display a different calendar date when a global release time falls on the next day in your region. Use the date and unlock notice shown on your own Steam store page as the final local check.

Why do August 18 and August 19 both appear?

The pinned developer FAQ says August 18, 2026. The developer repeated that date in the July 28 demo-closure post and the August 7 Busan Indie Connect announcement. Those are direct statements from the team.

Steam, however, showed August 19 on the regional storefront used for our check. Store dates can roll over at different local times. Until the developer publishes an exact launch hour, it is more accurate to preserve both displays than to label one of them a mistake.

If you are planning a launch-day session, take these steps:

  1. Open the official Steam page while signed into the account and region you will use.
  2. Read the release or unlock notice above the wishlist or purchase area.
  3. Treat the Steam client's live purchase/download state as the final confirmation that Early Access is available.
  4. Recheck the official Steam news feed if the listed date changes.

We will update this page when the store unlocks. We will not publish a guessed countdown based only on a date label.

Is the demo still playable?

No. The official July 28 announcement says the public demo is closed. The same post asks players to return when Early Access launches and mentions that the team may run separate closed playtests.

The developer's older product landing page still contains “Play the demo” wording. That page appears not to have caught up with the newer Steam announcement. A closed playtest invitation is also not the same as a public demo: access may be limited, and the developer has not promised that every player will receive an invitation.

Do not download an unofficial copy or use a third-party key site to work around the closure. The official Steam page and the team's own channels are the safe places to watch for access.

What does Early Access mean here?

The Steam Early Access statement describes a playable online co-op release that will continue changing with community feedback. The team says it plans to tune the core loop, difficulty, enemy behavior, physics interactions, co-op flow, and replayability while adding updates.

The current target is at least six months, but the developer also says it would rather finish the right version than force a fixed 1.0 date. That means August 18/19 is the beginning of the public Early Access period, not the promised date for the finished 1.0 release.

For the confirmed pre-launch feature picture, see our gameplay loop explanation and solo and four-player co-op guide. If you played the earlier build, our demo and Early Access comparison separates confirmed changes from 1.0 plans.

What is still unconfirmed?

The official sources used for this page do not give us a reliable answer for:

  • the exact worldwide unlock hour;
  • whether a preload will be offered;
  • the launch price;
  • a launch discount;
  • the final date for version 1.0.

We will add those details only after they appear on the official store or in a dated developer announcement.
